Information.

Tutors

Bernard Gregor-Smith cello

Professor at Royal Northern College of Music, formerly of the Lindsay quartet now cello to both the Dante Quartet and the Primrose quartet

Susanne Stanzeleit violin

Soloist and chamber musician. Leader of the Primrose Quartet previously head of strings London College of Music and Media. Visiting teacher at the Birmingham Conservatoire.

Yuko Inoue viola

Professor of Viola at the Royal Academy of Music London.  Performs as chamber musician, soloist and as a guest leader of London orchestras.

Yolande Wrigley piano

Piano soloist and previously senior tutor at the University of Sheffield. She has a special interest in the study of the use of  Alexander techniques and their relevance to  the tuition of pianists.

What will you do?

Listen and learn at masterclasses or take an active part in the weekend. You can benefit from Alexander technique instruction, performance opportunities, ensemble coaching and individual lessons may also be available to those attending the weekend.

Friday 14th November Concert at 7.30pm

Saturday 15th November  9am-7pm

Sunday 16th November  9am-5pm.

 

Fees

Both Days £130 (includes concert entry)

Saturday only £70 (includes concert entry)

Masterclass coaching, additional charge

Solo/duo     £30/ person

Ensemble   £15/ person

Booking your place

The closure date for entries is October 1st though late entries will be accepted if there are places. Early booking is advised as places are limited.

Saturday 15th November

Attend teaching by outstanding internationally known and highly experienced musicians

Be coached in a performance situation if you wish on solo/ensemble repertoire

Have an individual lesson

Explore the Alexander Technique as an aid to playing.

 

Sunday 16th November

Ensemble playing

Have a tutor play a part within your group

Tutors will be coaching throughout the day

Chance to perform in an informal concert

Practice space available between coached sessions

 

Ensembles

You can team up with others for ensemble playing if you don’t have a group to attend with.

 

Catering.

Tea and coffee are included in the course fee, Lunch will be available to buy if pre-ordered on both days. On Saturday an optional evening meal will be provided near the venue. More details will be available nearer the time.

Students may be offered a mattress on the floor, if needed, from Friends of 4strings88keys.
